Top Ten topics/words that make me instantly buy a book....
1.) DRAGONS!!!! I love dragons!! They are just so....AWESOME. If a book says dragons I would most likely buy it or at the very add it to my TBR list! EXAMPLES:

2.) Time Travel. I love time-traveling it is so interesting to watch a character go back in time! EXAMPLES:

(So Close to You, Ruby Red, Clockwise, Timeriders)
3.) Aliens...Aliens are just awesome. No matter how you look at it, it's so interesting to think someday this could really happen!! EXAMPLES:

7.) Robin Hood. Robin Hood is probably one of my favorite legends!! I love reading books about him!

(Scarlet, Robin: Lady of Legend)
8.) Outdoorsy/Wildlifey/Hiking/Skiing I love the outdoors. All things about it and I really want to be a wildlife biologist (I've never found a book that involves wildlife biology) So whenever I see a naturey book I get super exciter and buy it immediately!

(The Nature of Grace series, Peak) I really can't think of any others right now, so if you know any, LET ME KNOW!!!
9.) Parallel Universes. Once again, it's such an interesting topic that I love reading about!

(Dissonance, Pivot Point)
10.) Animal sidekicks! I love animals so is a character has an animal sidekick/friend.....

(Poison, Leviathan, Charlotte's Web, Because of Winn-Dixie.....
So those are topics that are auto-buys for me, although there are exceptions to every rule. I kind of died at the end and couldn't think of books for my bottom favorites! So if you know any great books under my favorite topics, let me know!
WHAT ARE YOUR AUTO-BUY TOPICS/WORDS???
Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Should be Reading!
My Teaser for this week is from Etiquette and Espionage! (Which hopefully I will finish by the end of today!!)

"A tremendous amount of steam emanated from below the lowest step, and with a great creaking and groaning, the stairs closed in upon themselves. The whole front section of the building that housed the main doors compressed downward like a concertina."
Okay so that quote wasn't super exciting.....Hmmmmm....Well it was random and I really like the book so far!
What books are YOU reading????
I can't believe I didn't think of spies...I love the Gallagher Girls and Also Known As!

ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten
Thanks for stopping by!! =D
DeleteYes to Space Travel! I wanted to include that one in mine, but I already had ten words :(
ReplyDeleteFabulous choices!
Spies are so fun to read about! I love the idea of Robin Hood, but have not found any books about him that I like that much though a few years ago I read a book about his daughter called Rowan Hood by Nancy Springer and remember thinking it was not bad. Have you ever read it?
ReplyDeleteFun list!
Nice list! I've been meaning to read some steampunk, but I haven't done that yet. It sounds like something I would enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOoh. Great list. I don't know how I managed to forget time travel on my own, as it's SO EXCITING.
ReplyDeleteGreat TTT! Steampunk is something I really would like to read more of, but have only dipped into recently. (The only one I've read is the Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld). So thanks for the other suggestions! The rest of these I either agree with, or are indifferent towards. Like Robin Hood. I don't mind Robin Hood, but really am not overly intrigued by such stories. But hey, if it's your favorite legend it definitely makes sense! Thanks for stopping by my TTT!
