DeleteBasically, I cry just THINKING of Code Name Verity. It changed my life. I can't even believe that such a book could be written, and yet here it is. I can't wait to read the next one, Rose Under Fire!
ReplyDeleteAnd I tried Michelle Gagnon this year also, but I couldn't get into Don't Turn Around. Did you like it? :)

I actually loved Don't Turn Around, but her writing style is definitely a hit or miss one!
DeleteAND YES! CNV I just want to curl up in a ball and reread and reread it! I have so many issues! :P But it was sooooo good! Definitely didn't like Rose Under Fire as much (but really what could ever live up to CNV?) Happy reading!

I have NOT read Code Name Verity yet. I have absolutely no good reasons for this! :) I absolutely LOVED All of Our Yesterdays though and The Burning Sky was really good as well! A very good list.

I haven't read any of those authors' books yet. :( Half of those books, though, are ones I really want to read, so hopefully I can get to them in 2014!
ReplyDeleteI didn't make a Top Ten Tuesday post, but I'll just tell you my top ten new-to-me authors from this year: Veronica Roth, Leigh Bardugo, Tahereh Mafi, Victoria Scott, Wendy Higgins, Colleen Hoover, Marissa Meyer, Shannon Messenger, Rainbow Rowell, and Khaled Hosseini. (I know, that last one doesn't fit in at all, but The Kite Runner was one of the best books I read this year.)
